- Eat good food - This is good-for-you food, not so much good tasting food. If I eat healthily, I feel much better.
- Exercise - Even if I only make it out of the house for a 5-minute walk, I feel much better.
- Read a book from a favorite author - There are few things that help lift my spirits like a good book from my favorite author, Mary Higgins Clark.
- Laugh a little - Give yourself some room for humor. Laugh at something, anything. Tell yourself a joke or find a funny picture or story.

Taking on depression
Depression is something that can easily and quickly take over your life and it is difficult to reclaim your life as your own and not live it as though it is a byproduct of the depression itself. How hard that is sometimes! So, my struggle with depression has not ended, but I think it is getting somewhat easier. A few things I have found that work for me to help curb my depression are:
